Tau Beta Pi is an engineering honor society that I was fortunate enough to be invited to join when I was an undergraduate at Tennessee Tech University in Cookeville.
The society sends out a quarterly magazine called The Bent to update members on the activities and on-goings of the association.
Each quarter when the magazine arrives, I enjoy flipping through and reading alumni updates, scanning chapter news, and working through the brain teasers–a fun section of games that test the wits of engineers.
Recently, they’ve added a new section about “Tau Beta Pi Authors.” The section publicizes published authors, particularly self-published ones. If you submit a cover image and short blurb about your book to d.lane@tbp.org, the editors may include your book in the next quarter’s issue.
In August, I did just that, and voila!

The Bent magazine from Tau Beta Pi published a short blurb and picture of my book “The Art of the Compromise.”
I am pretty excited to have The Art of the Compromise appear in The Bent as the image above shows. The second book in the right column is my submitted image and blurb.
I have enjoyed this journey and my new hobby of self-publishing, and it’s rewarding to see the book appear in The Bent.
Now, on to the next adventure….
