Unread Books

Unread Books

I have been working to organize my library of books. This picture above shows the stacks as I’m organizing them by subject on my office floor.

I scan each one into my Goodreads database, and then I organize them by subject on my shelves. It’s a tedious process, but I’m pretty happy with the results.

This image shows the intermediate results of the books organized by subject on the shelves.

To date, I have scanned in 612 books with about 92 of those books being ones I haven’t read yet and I would like to read.

These unread books reminded me of a quote that I’ve enjoyed from the Lebanese-American author/thinker Nassim Nicholas Taleb.

Taleb

Nassim Nicholas Taleb.

With regard to our personal list of unread books, they are “a powerful reminder of your limitations – the vast quantity of things you don’t know, half-know, or will one day realise you’re wrong about.”

I like that.
