I am presently reading America, Compromised by Lawrence Lessig. I have not finished the book yet, so I can not quite recommend it. However, I do find the book compelling and its arguments are sound.
Lessig explains that American democracy has become “corrupt,” and as he explains, he does not mean corrupt in the traditional usage of the term. Rather, he lays out his definition of “institutional corruption.” He argues that American democracy is suffering from such corruption.

I hope to finish reading soon, and I plan to pull quotes from the book into my second book. Stay tuned…
