Kingsport’s FunFest is a Small Town Favorite

We traveled as a family up to FunFest in Kingsport this weekend for the closing event, which includes a concert, food trucks, and fireworks. The week-long FunFest has been something that our family has enjoyed since the first one in 1981.

I’ve missed a few but when I can I try to get back to enjoy the events. Usually, my brother Dan and his family and a few high school friends grab a piece of lawn outside the concert stadium and near the food trucks.

We sit and enjoy each other’s company at a slower pace, which is not uncommon in a family town like Kingsport. We laugh and tell stories about days gone by and futures yet to unfold.

Highly recommend taking time to visit Kingsport during FunFest and make sure you stop by Pals for hot dogs and Frenchie Fries!
