A challenge with self-publishing on the cheap–besides the snobbery label–is doing each step with little to no foreknowledge about the hoops necessary to complete each task. Additionally, as one pulls on a thread, not knowing when one will reach the end of the thread is daunting. Each day, I encounter a new challenge and a new thread.
Yet, on other days, I am rewarded! I open an email, click an order, or perform some other perfunctory act, and I’m rewarded with the good news of a completed task.
Tonight, I sat down, and my inbox had an email from the Library of Congress. The email was the final step in issuing me an LCCN (Library of Congress Control Number) for “The Art of the Compromise.” I can now place the following line on the copyright of my book:
Library of Congress Control Number: 2024913835
The email represented a small victory but a victory nonetheless. I’m now waiting for a formal Copyright to be accepted.
